i used to use a 500 and it had an option to save the entire memory in the save menu. i see the XL doesnt have that option, so whats the best way to make sure that al the sounds, programs, and sequences get saved at once?

In the manual it tells you what to save in order to save everything you just described.

It's not a 1 save operation like u want.

It's an older machine, remember.

+1

That is exactly what I was hinting at.

It's a 2 step process. Easy and done.

APS is all programs and sounds/waves.

ALL is all songs, sequences, mixer settings, program/drum/track/midi settings.

That is also in the 2kxl manual on how to do that.

Cmon, get to know that manual?!?

(No autoload through folders).

It's more friendly than people think.

Same story, different machine.

I've had the standard floppy on my 2kxlse2, autoload worked fine.
Changed to Zip250, on my 2kxlse2, autoload worked fine.
Now with MCD os 1.14, autoload works fine.
