Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

new here thanks for the info its helped a lot. new to the mpc. i have the classic 2000, any help with finding the tempo of a loop. i can loop but have a hard time recording it to a track. i just want it to loop and dont know how to calculate the tempo so when it loops it loops perfect. anyway i searched the forum and found some tips but nothin that solves it for me yet, thx in advance for any 1 who has a tip

i suggest since you are new with the machine... do it by ear.

play the sample by hitting the pad and push the Tap Tempo button to get it as close as possible. then try pushing play to loop it at that bpm... then adjust it gradually to get it perfect.

so the tap tempo button while its playing will do what? this sounds like what i need thx

well when you push the tap tempo button you will see the bpm change.... so push record+start and push the sample in on the first tick. then stop... now tap the pad and tap the tap tempo to the beat of the sample.... you will see the tempo change so push enter to keep that tempo and push play again... see if the loop ligns up. it probably will be off a little bit, so while it is still playing, turn the jog wheel on the tempo untill you find a seamless loop.
