mpc 5000 wont boot???? cant stop autoload

mpc 5k started acting really strange today, it is set to autoload from the hd. after it gets done autoloading it just stays stuck on " initializing modes" and wont go to the main screen. So I have no way of turning the autoload off either.

Any help please?????

I would reinstall the OS. You might lose your data though. If it works back up your files as fast as you can. Try autoloading a different folder, if it works than you know the first autoload folder is corrupted somewhere. After you back up your files reformat the HD and memory card. If that doesnt work send it to Akai or an authorized repair center.

or at least only from cards and rom....never trust a hard disk....even a backed up one....

two 2gig cards with identical content......that's safe.
hd only for hd recording.....

He would if he could get past Autoload... he will probably be best doing as golfzerosafari said

turn on the unit while holding down the ERASE button.
This will reset the autoload feature to the factory ROM autoload.
And you shouldnt lose anything on the HD
