pads trigger note twice on one touch

i know i got a lotta questions but i just got the XL workin...

im sure this might be a time to get a new pad set, but i dunno for sure. sometimes when i hit a pad it will very quickly trigger the sample twice, almost like a snare roll or something. the more calm i am with them, to more controllable they are. but like if i just start groovin on it, more than half the time with notes will trigger twice.

its extremely annoying wen im just messin around with tracks, cas almost every note triggers twice. if that means i have to get new pads then thats fine, but i dont wanna get new ones and have the same problem

any ideas?

yep.. this problem has been address in other threads... if I remember correctly, the final outcome of the thread was:

it will happen some times... you might be able to fix it with new pads and sensors but it is not guaranteed... however it would be even iller to master the "pad skipping".


that is the summary if I remember correctly.

yeah i might get new sensors and pads but i wouldnt surpirsed if it still did that.

what i don't get is like, when i see people like Exile doing live performances on his XL, he's doin so much sh*t at once and hittin all the pads with alotta force and everything...how is he not double triggering samples?

if its a really common problem, it seems like people have come up with a solution for it then. i dunno though, i just play very controlled and calm for now, but it still happens and its real annyoing

well you get used to it and eventually you learn to make it not happen... push them solidly... not hard, but solid. make sure you push the pad all the way down and it helps it from happening. my machine does it too, but after some practice I can avoid doing it.

I`ve been playing the pads with two fingers so I had double triggering......

you have to hit the center of the pad! If you hit the edge of the pad, the sensor can be triggered twice...

afaik this happens on all 2000/xl its just your finger technique, hit the pad and remove your finger fast itll never double trigger, you're probably used to the harder than hard 500 pads

hah yeah probley, you dont realize how bad the new model's pads are until are lay your fingers on some old school ones i guess

The new model MPC pads feel like Fisher Price toys to me.
