Thats cool, I was thinking of putting the sp12 in a local garage sale or "goodwill" just to do it(This was when my mind wasnt into music) a few years back, glad I didnt obviously.
But I go diggin at the goodwill all the time and I live in the dollar bins. Last week I went to my record spot and got like 15 acapella 12 inches for like 2 dollars each. Tomorrow Im goin back, Its dope, they got record stations where you can hear anything. They had this obscure rap 12 inch by mel brooks called "its good to be the king" for 20 dollars, it was released in 82..

F*ck, anyway, GREAT DEAL obviously. Does it have the 3.10 upgrade, cause if it does, you will have everybody hating you in here...Just kiddin.
In my opinion the 3.10 is a must have.

Goodwill selling records for $20? Hmm, seems like someone there knows what's up.

This even beats (no pun intended) the $25 Technics....
Damn you must have done something right in your previous life!

What about your friend? He didn't want to sell it himself / wasn't interested in it?

The pads aren't very sensitive. I have to use the full level key to get a sound out of some of the pads. No matter how hard I hit'em you can barely hear anything until I turn on the full level. Is there anyway I can fix that myself? Also, I had some sounds on the pads and they somehow got layered, so I was triggering 2 sounds from 1 pad, but I never assigned them that way. Oh, by the way, the sequencer on this thing is nasty. There's something different about it I can tell already.

here's a better pic http://apotheosis.tv/files/DSC01605.JPG

You should open it up and clean the pads and sensors, it might help. Also reseat the ribbon cable. That can help. It's been somewhat abused but still intact.

By Deta!L Mon Jul 26, 2004 4:03 pm
damn you got the illest setup

set the note thing from poly to mono if that's what you mean, then each time you press the pad it'll cut off the original sound

By JStruMENTAL Mon Jul 26, 2004 11:07 pm
i hate you, alot

By elmacaco Mon Jul 26, 2004 11:31 pm
Don't hate now fellas, the gods of the 60 have bestowed a gift on brother Slider, and now he must take good care of it and beat it every day.

PS, you should add the OS & SCSI if it doesn't already have the scsi.

I'm sure Forat has spare end cheeks from all the wood grain stuff they do.

Nice work. I was also blessed with an absolute steal on my 60(II not a
MK I you lucky B*%*$rd) some fellas in a highly respectable DC studio happened to spill a cappuccino on top and therefore deemed it ruined, and decided to get rid of it for $200. I was happy to take it off their hands. After a highly delicate detailing and a software upgrade here I am with only about $700 invested I have a cosmetically flawless fully functionable best damn machine ever invented!! Enjoy the beast!
