Flying with an MPC

I have a flight from London to Barcelona for a show and this will be the first time that I have flown with my MPC 2000. The plan is to carry it on as hand luggage to keep from the clumsy hand of the baggage handers.
Can the MPC be damaged in anyway through flying due to change in atmospheric pressure or any other factors like that? Or am I just worrying over nothing?
I use the MPC as a sampler from which I trigger drum samples from my acoustic kit via a vdrum brain and triggers and it is the backbone of my set up...would suck to turn up to the show to find my sampler is busted.

my mpc1000 made it through in hand luggage just fine (within lots of padding)

one thing - depending on where youre travelling, the size of the 2000 might be an issue, as in the uk there are strict guidelines to hand luggage size:

hand luggage restrictions: 56 x 45 x 25 cm (including wheels etc)

actually.. looking at that you should be fine , so long as you can get an appropriate case/bag

The only problem I had leaving out of Gatwick with my MPC was that the security wanted me to pull it all the way out of my carry on bag for inspection.

Shouldn't be any other issues for ya.

thanks all for the help. so in conclusion - i should have no problems other than the usual customs shinannigins. up to this point i have been triggering samples off my laptop but switched to the hardware because i was getting sick of the occasional glitches.

what a wonderful machine the mpc is. they really don't make anything that comes close anymore.

by the way - does anybody know where i can buy the flash rom expansion for the mpc 2000 in london? or if i can actually buy this anymore? and how much it will cost?
