forgive me if this is a dumb question but... can the 9 gb drive be partitioned into multiple 750mb pieces?

I've been getting the same reactions asking for 720kb floppies in all my local computer stores.
Even got laughed at for asking in a couple of them.

^^^ that happened to me in staples when i first got my eps16... i went TRY and find ds/dd floppies and they looked at me funny, then kept trying to convince me that ds/hd disks were better. then looked at me funny again when i said i couldnt use those..

you should be glad those people even knew what DD disks are...

you know what?? they probably didnt. they most likely thought "well we're staples and if we don't know what it is then CLEARLY it isn't a disk format that's worth our inventory"

Unfortunately, no. The sampler will only use 785MB of the drive and ignore the rest.

Does anyone know how fast the SCSI is in these mpcs? Acard has two adaptors, one for 20mb/sec transfer rate and the other is 160mb/sec transfer rate. is it possible the mpcs SCSI are faster then 20mb/sec?

The MPC3000 does not support data transfer speeds at a rate higher than 20 megabytes per second.

In actual fact ... the MPC3000 doesn't even get up to performing at 20 megabytes per second transfer rates.

You should see the reaction of people when I went out looking for a SCSI 1 to SCSI 2 adaptor...They thought that I time-traveled from the past...

here the local shop for electronic technician think i'm mad or similar
when i enter they start laughting even before i try to say hello....

You may want to edit the MPC 3000 row in the NDISK 9GB column on your Compatibility Chart. It currently reads that these to are NOT compatible.

Will do - all these Yeses and Nos blend together after a while.

Thanks for catching that! There was another bug on the MPC2000XL info as well and I fixed that. So much info to keep track of...
