Stuck

So I've been sitting on a Zip 250 parallel port drive; I know I can put it to use somehow within my set up, I just could use a little help visualizing what to do with it. I currently have My 60II with a regular zip 250, a PC with cubase SL, Recycle, and a Oberheim OB-12 synth. Does anyone use a parallel port for anything? Thanks in advance.

You could use it with the MPC Editor to transfer files from your computer to the MPC's zip. Or ou could transfer samples from your MPC's Zip drive.

Naw, cuz the MPC has to format the zip disk before it can use it so it'll be useless trying to put sounds on the disk with the computer. Once the computer formats the zip disk the MPC won't recognize it.

The MPC can read a Dos formatted Zip with sounds transferred by the MPC Editor software. On the flip, your computer should also be able to read a MPC formatted Zip.

Download the MPC Editor. Download the drivers for your Zip drive. Format a zip disk either on the PC or MPC. Transfer files where you need em. Make sure before you load up the MPC Editor that you have everything you need setup to go. The demo is only for a limited time. You can then have enough time to work out a system of doing things and determine if you want to purchase the software.

i would just get a drive for the mpc and a parrllel port for the computer. u can get em off ebay and get iomegatools for your pc and u can do qucik ish on the fly.

i have a scsi zip on my 2K and a parallell port for my laptop.

i just keep zip disks that are partitioned away from my laptop, but as long as i don't partition the zip disk I can use it to transfer and organize files on the mpc and laptop no problem.

so for example i have a zip disk with a bunch of partitions full of beats. i can load up the contents of a partition and save it from the mpc to an unparted zip and load it into my computer. end result is a crisp folder network so i can see what i got, and back it up to cd or whatever. this might not be so much of a problem if your MPC recognizes folders, cause mine doesn't and it gets messy.....
