CAN I USE THE MAIN OUTS AND THE 4 OUTS AT THE SAME TIME

I HAD THE 2000XL WHERE I COULD HAVE THE MAIN OUTS PLAYING EVERY THING, BUT THE OTHER OUT PLAYING SPECIFIC STUFF
IM TRYING THAT ON THE 1K, WHEN I SWITCH THE PAD TO THE OUTS, IT TAKES OUT THE MAIN

Absoposiluttively.

But: you can't have a sound on the Main outs and the separate outs at the same time, you switch between "L/R", "1/2" or "3/4" on the Mixer page. I use this to send e.g. snares to a delay then a mixer, so that suits me just fine.

THATS WEIRD BECAUSE I COULD DO THAT ON THE 2000XL.
SO THAT WOULD MEAN I WOULD HAVE TO DUPLICATE THE SAMPLE TO A SEPARATE PAD.

If you want it on the main outs at the same time, yes. I just use the mix controls on my delay to get the wet/dry mix I want.

Your what doesn't seem to be working?
I just followed the manual procedure to assign the Pad to the extra outs, worked first time for me. Last time this question came up, it was a problem outside the MPC - cabling, mixer channels, etc. IIRC.

Leave out the FX for a minute, hook up the extra outs to a stereo mixer channel and assign the Pad using the Mixer page.

Im having the same problem... When I assign a sound to assignable outs 12 I get no sound. 34 I get no sound but, in ST I get sound... Cant figure it out...

I'm not following this... when you set 1/2, the sounds are re-routed to physical sockets 1/2 on the back. They no longer appear on ST at all. What do you have plugged in to outs 1/2?

I don't get the problem here!
I mean, when I'm using FX, I want the sounds going one way only. The device I'm attaching to outs 3/4 is a digital delay (Korg DL8000R) with its own wet/dry mix, that I can control using CC. If it didn't... I would use mixer channels and Aux sends.
BUT if I had a sound on the main outs (ST) and through FX via 3/4, the two routings would interfere with each other, I could get more dry signal than I needed, or unwanted phasing effects. So I have zero problem with the way the MPC1000 handles its extra outs: I just wish there were more of them!

Only if you assign them to separate pads... again, I would personally not do that, parallel routing of sounds and effects can lead to mix balance and phasing problems...
