what up guys. im trying to get a live set together with my beats. typical case of producer turn DJ...yep. i know how to navigate through my MPC pretty well, but im stiill kinda stumped on switching back and fourth through .PGMs/Sequences on the fly, thus, im not sure if i can use my mpc live unless i want stop in between songs...

ive been looking at the sp-303, which gets great input or abelton live, which seems to be up my alley, but i thought id get your guys' suggestions/opinions on set-ups with the 2kxl for a live set....

thanks

well you've only got 32mb to load an entire sets worth of stuff so that might be a struggle right from the start..
you could have all your sequences loaded and have program changes in each sequence so it goes to the right program (i've never done this but i think its possible with midi, maybe someone else can help on this one)

other option like above is just have 4 programs loaded and 1 sequence or a few and just play the track mutes live to change it up

My Suggestion: Don't be afraid of the NV Slider

im thinking of adding something my 2kxl for effects and to have bit more freedom over the beat entirely i.e. tempo changes but in the same beat without the samples screwing up, editing a sample on the fly. stuff that like that. sp 303 i hear does all these things....but i dont know if i should go software.

only times ive used my mpc (2k) live was while im DJing, i sometimes rock my drums from the MPC over the drums of the track im playing. Nothing technical or crazy at all, but people go nuts when i bang out drumtracks live like that lol
