I don't know what I'm doing on my MPC2500!

I have a MPC2500 and I am new to all of the Music Production scene. I have a couple of (simple but hard to me) questions:

How do I record the beats that I make to the cd drive (or can I even do that?)

I Have a M-Audio Oxygen 49 Controller w/ Live Lite 6. How do I record what I played into the MPC2500? (I am not sure how to set the MIDI function)

I have more questions but if someone could help me out with these questions I would appreciate it.

First off... make some beats before you worry about how to burn them to cd. At the point where you have something worth burning you will probably know the answer to your question.

Secondly... study that manual as much as you can while working through the functions. There's honestly no substitute i'm afraid. Cover the basics and everything else will fall into place.

You need to run audio cables from the output of your PC or laptop to the "Record In" on the back of your Mpc.
