Strange track behaviour / Midi tracks playing active track

Hi guys,

just created a sequence consisting of 6 tracks. Tracks 5 and 6 are midi tracks sending notes to external synths and having no internal program.

Now when I select track 5 or 6 everything plays alright.

But when I select track 1-4 the selected track plays its own pattern PLUS the patterns of the midi tracks 5 and 6. I can't believe that this is how it should work?!

I checked all patterns... no track contains anything else than notes. No program changes, no controllers, nothing but notes.

Any advice and/or similar experiences?

No, the numbers don't seem to be the problem. I guess you mean program change numbers (PC)?

It behaves like the midi outputs of the mpc are were connected to the midi ins, because the active tracks plays every midi note that goes out of the mpc.

Found a workaround: setting the "Active track receive channel" to a channel that isn't used to send midi events. It works but it's not a fix.

The midi output channel and pc change field are seperate entities.

Each instrument on your module needs to recieve on a seperate midi channel. Make sure the mpc is transmitting on seperate channels. Also make sure your module is receiving in multimode.

Hmm... don't unterstand that. What do you mean with module?


Again, my situation... I have 6 tracks:

1) drum track, internal
2) drum track, internal
3) drum track, internal
4) drum track, internal
5) midi track, external, midi out 2A
6) midi track, external, midi out 3A

When I now for example select track 2 this track plays its own midi events as well as the midi events of tracks 5 and 6 (which results in a weird drum chaos).

Sounds like the unit receiving the midi sends it back to the mpc.

Ah! Got it... was a midi feedback in my setup.
