Hello everyone

Possibly,I am the dumbest and chumpest person on MIDI topics on earth ( no matter how many times I´ve read about it, it´s always a mess to me: I was instructed on classic music, not MIDI ).Yes, I´m dumb as hell on MIDI. so if anybody can help me, I would appreciate it:

WHAT I WANT TO DO: I want to use my mpc1000 as my master sequencer, but using my FANTOM S and my sound module PROTEUS2000 as sound sources.

So this is the set up that I have:

My Fantom S is connected to an AKAI MPC1000 like this:

AKAI´s MIDI IN (1) to Fantom´s MIDI OUT
FANTOM´s MIDI IN to AKAI´s MIDI OUT(A)
Fantom is LOCAL OFF
MPC soft thru is OFF and active track is selected to : ALL

Then, I have a sound module on MULTI MODE ( E-MU PROTEUS) connected like this:

PROTEUS Midi IN ( B) to FANTOM S MIDI thru ( so I can play PROTEUS sounds in the FANTOM )

PROTEUS Is MULTI MODE change accepted:
ALL OUTS AND INS ARE CORRECTED ROUTED TOI MY MIXER SINCE I CAN LISTEN TO BOTH OF THEM WHEN PLAYED SEPARATELY.

Well, this is what happens: I can record the FANTOM S sounds to the MPC thru its channel 1A, but I can´t play PROTEUS notes on channel 2B, they sound altogether, so one´s level must be turned off.

Yes, I should have found out the answer but after research, I´m still lost.

Can anybody help me?
Thanks
Paula

Too little info (seriously...).

What channels are the tracks for the Fantom and the Proteus set to on the MPC? Which channels are both modules set to receive? All? Or the channel you want them to listen to?
