mpc makes extra blank tracks

on a 2000

i notice when i save several sequences on the same partition of my zip or hard drive, that when i load them back on the mp, they will all have the same number of tracks as the sequence with the most of em.

so if i have one seq that has 15 tracks, and another with 10, and another with 5, when i reload them they all have 15 tracks, and the extra tracks will be blank. somewhat annoying.

just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. i assume its a bug but maybe theres something i can do?

I know what you mean. Instead of saying "(Unused)" it will say "Track-10", or whatever track number it is.

Maybe the MPC thinks that because you have loaded a few different sequences they are all going to be for the same song?

It isn't a problem for me because I always rename a track I've recorded on so I'm not going to think there is anything on one of these automatically renamed tracks if there isn't.

yeah naming my tracks would help . . . i havent quite developed a good work ethic yet

yeah take the extra time and name em. itll pay off in the long run

Yes, especially if you use a lot of external gear.......if you load up a sequence you were working on 3 weeks ago how are you going to remember that TRACK-6 is that patch on that synth, TRACK-7 is a different patch on the same synth & TRACK-9 is that bass sound on that other module if you haven't named them on the MPC?
