Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Its good to have the regular floopy drive too though, because then you have more options for bringing sounds into the MPC. This way you can have someone send you a sample in a email, save it to the floppy, and then load it into the MPC. You can do it with a zip, but I don't like touching them and swamping them between the computer and the MPC. You def need shit to sample from...that is the most important! Without an arsenal of wax, cds, movies, video games, pornos, sound mods or anything else you can think of, the MPC is pretty much just a dust collector. Only thing that is needed is some skill and a lot of free time. I rocked my MPC with no zip, 16 megs of ram, and pair of technic 1200s for over 2 years, and it allowed me to learn the MPC in and out. Baby steps!

I dont know your budget but these thing are worth the $40 you pay for them.
Check out zip disks on ebay too. Cuz its like $15 for a Bran New Zip Disk.
If you buy used ones in bulk, then you can save your self a lot of money.

And for records, go to goodwill or salvation army and jus buy some records. After a while, you will start to see which kinds of records are your style and which ones are more usable.

Records are def an important part of your setup.

But if your doin west-coast or dirty south, your gonna want a keyboard instead.
