I hope they address the issues with OS2XL soon otherwise OS2XL it will probably be the last time I spend money on some JJ stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love the work they did with the other OS' but we paid $15 dollars for a fully functional OS (I think it was $15, I forgot), we didn't give them $12, so why did we get an OS that isn't totally there that's missing key features and still has bugs? I wouldn't feel confident paying them again for an OS/software knowing that I might get stiffed again, some of us here haven't even bought OS2XL for that reason. I don't think it's good for their business considering that this was probably suppose to be their latest and greates work, and now they are going into software. Alright I'm done, peace...

I'm still quite a noob but for the record I am sticking with OS2 because of the Qlink functionality. I just played with XL today and it seems cool for the most part, though I don't see anything I couldn't live without. I haven't used simult pad yet but reading the descriptions here compelled me to go back to OS2 for now, although to be fair that's partly because I don't feel that I've fully explored it yet. I would buy XL and probably gleefully switch back and forth between the two but frankly I'd feel that I'd be "enabling" the JJOS team to ignore their customers.

I'm also a Renoise user. I paid them $60 in 2006 and there have been innumerable features added in each update since, for which I've never had to spend a dime. I acknowledge that developing for the desktop is much different from developing for a proprietary machine like an MPC. But the notion of listening to and acknowledging, if not implementing, the requests of your customer base carries over for damn sure. I certainly don't regret buying OS1 and 2 but I have to say that the ignoring is somewhat troubling and makes me hesitant to get on board with XL.

If they fix the Qlink and simult issues, I'd gladly pay twice the $15 that they're asking now. Not that my thirty bucks is motivation enough but I might not be alone...

What kinda stuff you making with Renoise/the MPC?

Strangely when I searched images for "thumbs up" this was the first result. In fact every result seemed to ignore the word "thumbs."

What's that all about?

I was using mostly Renoise as my main horse for quite a long time and I started to notice my music/process feel pretty blocky/claustrophobic - I was starting to develop some habits I didn't like. So I got the MPC to loosen things up a bit and it's a lot more enjoyable. I still love Renoise. The "Render Selection to Sample" command is brilliant, then again it's nothing the MPC can't do ;)

WOW! I never knew you could load VSTs in your MPC :p

Take it you've been keeping up with updates? I have to admit I haven't really done anything since version 1.9 and got my MPC to try and break away from my (dying) computer.

EDIT: Just realised I'm kinda sidetracking an important thread here and I shouldn't. Sorry
