I have JJ OS 2, and as I read the features for OS 2XL, the mixer automation has gone with it.
So I am very interested, what the mixer automation exactly is and how it can be done on OS2.
I ask because I've read about the mixer section in OS2 manual, but I did not find anything about an automation:
http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/os2/mixer_e.htm

Or at least, where can I find in the net some infos about OS2 mixer automation?

Greetings,

Paul

funny, I was going to make a thread about this a couple days ago but I ended up figuring it out. I don't remember what I did now though :P
I know that I had to set an option about recording mixer movements - I can't remember which mode that was in. and then when I looked at what it had recorded in the step edit view, it was full of level changes. it had events for both track and pad so I believe you can do it either way.

that's the TRACK mixer in that link you posted.
the mixer automation you are looking for exists in the regular mixer:
MODE + PAD 8 -> SETUP tab

it just lets you record LEVEL & PAN changes right there in the screen using RECORD or OVERDUB. simple but very useful as there is no other way to accomplish this function inside the MPC, and as you mentioned os 2XL has removed this capability completely.

no, you can't record pan and level automation in os2xl yet, but jj said it will be possible one day.
