malfunctioning 2500

Ok, this is my first post so forgive me if this is already a topic...I have an interesting problem that happens at random times: My 2500 will be playing fine, then all of a sudden the left channel will go out completly and it will start to sound all distorted. If I push the full mode button and play several pads at once, then I can make the signal hot enough to pop the left channel back on, and it plays like there was no problem to begin with. What's going on? Why does the left side go out in the first place? Why can I pop it back by overloading it? Mabe a component inside is malfunctioning or something. I don't know, please help

This has happened to a few other people they had to send them back for faulty outputs.
