seems you misconfigured something....once properly configured when you click EXT tab next to metronome it should automatically detect MPC's tempo without you having to adjust it manually. also green led should be blinking, signaling you have sync.

If I play my MPC at 120.00bpm the metronomes sync all ok...If I change the tempo on the MPC, Lives metronome still plays at 120!?!?!?!?!?

If anyone is in the Chicago area, they should definitely come down to the Ableton Chicago User Group on May 28th @ 7 PM:

I'll be presenting and a huge part of it will be devoted to integrating the MPC with Live (setup, templates, workflow, etc.). Also, on some straight up nerd shit, I'll be demonstrating the use of Live as a control voltage sequencer for analog synths, all controlled by the MPC (poor man's Volta). Come down and laugh, point and say hey!

This is a great opportunity to learn, share and network. Hope to see you guys there!

If im not mistakin i think only the newer mpcs and jjos can do Midi,

if your drums are on point just do this.

.. record all your sequences in abelton with air seperating them
..record through the main out into abelton seperate tracks for each track in the mpc
.. when recorded then unwarp the sample
..make sure the tempo on abelton is the same as it is on the mpc
.. select all your tracks at once and line them up to the first hi- hat , do this to all your sequence

know if your sh*ts on point you should now be able to join the sequences

for me when i do this it sounds exactly like the way i played it on the mp

The MPC-1000 with an Akai OS will only allow Midi Beat Clock. MTC was made available thanks to the Jenius. Live does receive Beat Clock, for sync though, so it should work the same way.

I just switched to ableton 7 from fl studio. I'm still trying to figure out how to do all the tricks that I knew in fl studio. Swing (was easy shuffle bar in fl studio)and how to select what part of the song i want to chop! I want to be able to easily chop without having to use another program like recycle to chop my samples. Bare with me its a whole different monster. In fl studio i would just chop in edison by placing markers and then put it in the fl slicer. I have the digital doctor music dvd and ableton 7 power book for assistance but they're no help. Cant find any youtube videos for help :angry: .

Chopping is way easy with ableton. When you have your sound in an audio track, right click the track and press "slice to new midi". From there you can choose how you want it chopped (8th, 16th etc). If you want to manually chop it, move the play markers to wherever you want them on the wavy form, then right click and crop sample. For swing ( I usually dont quantize but...) When you quantize your midi track, there is a bar labeled amount, adjust the percentage there for your swing. Hope this helps
