A Question regarding MIDI...

This question is aimed at people who are more familiar with the MPC and especially the MIDI capabilities it has.

I don't believe that it can do this, but I thought I'd make sure. If you have the MPC 2000XL MIDI'd to and controlling a module synth (like a Roland JV-1010), can you transmit program BANK changes from the MPC to the module without having to adjust them on the module? I know you can change some "program" data, but I want to know if you can change the module's BANK data, or if you have to change it on the actual synth itself?

My MPC it at the repair shop and i'm just waiting for it back so i can try this. thats sysex info and i think you can put program change in the midifile. Maybe you can put it there with cubase too? save the sequence as a midifile and open it in cubase??

I'm at work now so i'm sure if i remember it correctly, but i think you'll have to go into the 'step edit' screen. Then you'll have to insert an event. Choose "control change". You'll have to input the number of the bank-select also, but i think that's different for every module, so look in your JV's manual.
Now just press play in the main screen, and your module shoud change banks where you've inserted the bank change.
