loading drums all at once off a flash card?

Watup guys...i'm new to the whole production game and started out with a 2000xl. Im thinking of buying a 2500 but was wondering how the drum loading works off a flash card. With the 2000xl i had to load each drum one by one to the pads off a floppy and this took a long time for me. I don't know if I was doing that right but wanted to ask if the 2500 can load a 64 drums onto all pads at once? Obviously it would have to be a kit but if its just a bunch of random drums can you load them up all at once? Also can you make your own kit with random drums so that they load up all at once? Any help with this newbie matter would be appreciated. Thanks guys...

Let me start out as a new mpc 2500 user, to say that it has everything that the 2000xl has, plus more! And it`s a whole lot easier.

When you load every drum in the 2000xl, then I believe you have not put them into a program, therefore you have to load each individual sound in. This you can easily avoid by making it into programs. Just add a sound to a pad, and repeat this for all sounds you wish to use. then save the program, f.ex save all prgrams & sounds, all sequences and etc. If you have used the slicing function of the 2000xl, then you know that you can make one program and auto slice it, so that all the sounds from that sample will be added automatically to pads. I only have managed to do the automatic once for every time. In the 2500, there is 64 (?) programs, where you can do this automatically for each one!! When it comes to loading sounds all in once, I have not tried it yet. Hopefully someone else can answer this.

I think, although I'm not certain, that you can load all samples within a folder so if you have a kit in a folder you can load them all to internal memory in a go. When loading single files it asks you if you want to assign it to a program, not tried loading multiple samples at once so i don't know what the process is there. With JJOS there are some short-cuts for assigning many samples or makign adjustments to multiple pads at a time.

I've only used JJOSXL (and not much yet) so some of above may be slightly inaccurate, especially with regards to AkaiOS.

Yes I was using AKAI OS yesterday and you can indeed load in a lot of samples by selecting the folder. Note of course that you'll still have to manually assign samples to pads...

Got JJOSxl today so will do some more experimenting with that....but I think at the very least you'll be able to load in a folder load of samples at once on a 2500, whichever OS you use.
