im not that familiar with EQ and stuff..so bear with me. i have a rane ttm 56 dj mixer. it has 3 band eq, ranging from KILL to +6dB. ive noticed that most recording mixers haev EQ that is like +/- 15 dB. does this make a big difference when EQing samples to make them cleaner? or u think ill be ok with the +6dB? thanks, peace

you'll be fine. actually better than fine.

with kill you can take out a whole frequency range which is usefull. +6 is of course less of a boost than +15 but if you really need that extra boost in a frequency range then you can lower the other two bands and raise the gain.

actually, it tends to be better for sound quality to cut than boost, so perhaps you should be doing that anyway. anyway, having a true kill function is really nice and great to have around for like taking hihat sounds off of kicks and such.
