It's a mixdown job, there are a couple of ways to do it
1) You can "resample" the Main Outs, mix it down to RAM. (In Record mode, select "Main Out" as source, then sample as normal. Depends on having enough RAM, of course.

2) Play it out to the iBook as audio: this is one for the MacPhiles to answer, I don't know what audio in facilities the iBook has...

If you want to record audio on ibook you need audio interface! A good place to check for audio interface quality and recording programs is

www.osxaudio.com

Post on the forums there and they should be able to recommend something to you.

Software you can use for mac is Pro-Tools (mbox and 002), Logic Audio, audacity (free) and a few others. Pro-Tools comes with software and hardware...Logic you need to buy audio interface. I have a Tascam US-122 which works alright.

I just got an i book 3 weeks ago i bought a m audio interface for 150 dollars. You just hook it up download the software and use Garage Band that comes with i life. and you can record your sounds like that into your ibook. Once you got everything squared a way. Export the song to i tones, then take that song and convert it to an mp3.
