Recording loops

Maybe another question with an easy answer!!

I've looped a break. I know the bpm and have set the sequence to the same bpm and number of bars and I want to loop the sequence.

I'm triggering the looped break on a pad and and recording but the loop finishes either to early although its at the same bpm. Theres just a very short silence before the loop begins again.

I assigned the break to two pads and recorded and played them realtime whilst recording and it worked. Can you do it like above though?

This is how I do it and it's worked every time:
• make a loop(ex. 1 bar, though it can be any length, one beat if you want)
• check the bpm in parameters
• set the bpm of the sequence to match the bpm of the loop
• start recording and trigger the loop on the 1
• keep the pad held down 'til just after the sequence reloops and your done.

It should loop seamlessly. This has worked for me every time. The only time I've run into problems is when I have a looped sound that overlaps itself which will end up cutting it off. Sometimes I'll mess up on studdered loops this way, but all you have to do is adjust the length of the note- on(there's one word for this, but I can't think of it to save my life. I think it starts with a "D" and it's not decay).

I've read that it's a good idea to re-trigger a loop appox every two bars to make sure it stays in sync, so I usually try to keep that in mind when sequencing. Unless of course your loop is like 4 bars long, but I never rape anybody's shit that bad.
