Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

what's good y'all? i've been on the xl for about 10 years and my screen finally went bad so i decided to cop a new one since screens are mad hard to find. anyway, i copped an mpc studio off ebay recently, but didn't have time to mess with it until today. first off, the mpc is in excellent condition with no scratches, scuffs, dust, etc. it looks and feel's like it's brand new. it loads and saves sounds with no problem, but i tried to mess with a beat and i'm not getting ANY signal when i try to record. i've used different cables, tried sampling from different sources, but still nothing. have any of you had this problem? but my question is: can i swap out the board from my old mp into the new one? would it work? having an mp that can't sample defeats the purpose.

on your sample screen check to see if it's on digital or anolg it should be anolog i'm sure you know just double check.

did you open it up maybe you disconnected some wire.

yeah, it's in analog. i haven't opened it up yet. maybe the previous owner did when he added the 8 outs, but it's a studio version so the 8 outs prolly already came with it. i'll look into it. thanks tho.

nope. i got it set to 189 seconds. i'm definitely no noob to the mpc. just never had or heard of anyone that's had this problem.

ok so i opened up the mpc, took out the 8 outs and took a look at the inputs and board. all wires seem to be in tact, nothing seems to be out of place. i'm stumped. if anyone knows a good mpc repair center, let me know. this is wack.
