Sp12 users!!

Just scored an sp12 pretty cheap. Not sure how it's gonna fit into my workflow just yet. I guess just gonna add some flavour to my drums.
Any tips/advice or links on how to freak it?

My next major gear related purchase is probably going to be an SP. I've seriously thought of stripping down to nothing but an SP and a 950.

Question? I can't seem to be able to adjust the value for the sample length, anyone know how to do this?
the cursors don't seem to adjust it and if I try to enter a no. it changes to another sampling function.

Before you sample or After?

It is part of the sampling funtions before you sample. Button 5 then slider 1. (I don't have it in front of me at the moment)

If you want to adjust sample length after you sample it is in the set-up menu. Number 19(loop/truncate). Then follow instructions.

It is a simple device, just follow the menus.

Me too. I've always wanted a SP-12 but they are too expensive in Europe (£400+). I almost got one for £50 in Loot about 8 years ago but someone beat me to it by a few minutes.

I'm visiting the states in September and hoping to pick one up. What's the going rate for one over there?

If I get an SP12 (I got the 1200) I'll follow the thread on 1200 forums on how to change the internal sounds to my own favorite ones, like a couple of bass notes, some hype, a sub boom kick and such.

What's good with the SP12 is that you can save beats by recording a single track from the cassette out to your computer, minidisc etc. Don't have to mess with floppies (tho' I love them floppies)!

I make a lot of beats on my 1200 with 5 seconds remaining sampling time, so you just have to learn how to get the max out of it.

Yeah I was told that but, I never got it to work. No matter how many times I tried.

I just did a test and it worked. No floppies for me.

I wish they didn't remove the cass out on the 1200. The 1200 can load this way, but not store this way, and that sukz, would be dope to have backups on the Mac like that.
