Still using software in conjunction with the 5000, YES.... never did drop software VI's(Virtual Instruments) but the MPC is still the Brain of the whole situation.

But i doubt id ever drop the MPC out of the whole equation

mpc5000 is still my DAW

i have other 'items' but i do not use software at all, except to hold/transfer files and such.

No, none of us use the 5000 anymore. Its only 16 bit everybody knows 24 bit sounds better.

yup... I saw Jahrome selling a MPC 5000 on ebay a while back too. Maybe he had one of those "I have two MPC's, So I no longer need this", type of deals...
