Hey all,

I've just posted in the MPC2000XL section but i'm going to have to repeat myself here in case anyone can help me.

I got an MPC2000XL a couple of weeks ago. Standard floppy drive installed and it came with the original Akai sound library CD.

Now what is the next step? I've never produced or used and MPC in my life.

So far after doing my research I know that I can start loading through the option of an external cd, zip or multi card drive.

I've ordered a cd drive and scsi 50 to 68 pin cable which should come in the next few days, and i'm hoping that just for a starting point, i'll be able to load onto my MPC through the option of CD. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance for your help.

nah, you dont need a $100 table. go to garage sales and pick up an old turntable. then go to guitar center ( or whatever music store is in your area) and get a phono pre amp. you do not need 1200's to sample. you need a turntable, decent stylus, phono preamp, and cables. the most expensive thing is going to be a phono pre amp.

i have a bbe that i bought from guitar center 2-3 years ago.
