MPC or the MPD?

hello,

i'm looking into investing in either the mpd32 to use with fruityloops and reason, or any of the mpcs. i'm a student and don't have any money right now, so getting either one of these will be hard work. i want to know which sampler is more suited to what i want to do, which is sample and chop vinyl, tapes, cd, etc.

i understand that if i was to go for the mpd32, i'd have to rip everything to computer, to all of the chopping and mapping on the computer before i can use the mpd32. if i had an mpc i could just load everything into the mpc, chop, map the time and start producing.

should i settle for the mpd32 or go for the full-blown mpc? what can't i do with an mpd that i could do with an mpc? also, if i went for the mpc, how much more money would i have to invest in order to get all of the extras? thanks

if you on budget then mpd is natrually a better choice...do you have an audio/midi interface already ?

I have an M-Audio Keystation 49e.

unless that m audio keystation has a midi input and can be used as a midi interface it's just a simple midi controller, how bout soundcard ? what interface are you using ?

I assure you an MPD won't be neccesarrily a much cheaper choice in the end. You will need a descent computer, and I hope your actually paying for FL or Reason.
