Day three with 4k

So far zero regrets dope machine. Not difficult at all didnt read the manual just used it once as a reference. Still have the 2kxl mentality so i need to get over it.

what mpc did you come from?

Iam actually a asr 10 / emax rack dude. but I did own the 2kxl for like 2 years and was used to doing things that way. copped a 3000 for the hype and it turned out to be just hype. the 4k is right for me since ia sed to working with full blown samplers.

so far most issues are minor.

I'm new to the MPC environment,too I have actually got aswell a Roland MV8800,which is awesome,and has been my main writing tool for the last year or so,however,I migrated to the MPC4K simply because I needed the extra Midi out ports,this is IMO the only thing that lets the MV down,prior to that I was using the Korg Triton sequencer for years.I thought I would regret buying the MPC because of owning the MV8800.and thought it was maybe a little overkill simply for a few extra Midi ins and outs however....

A few weeks in using the MPC4k and I have no regrets whatsoever,getting used to it has been a breeze,there are some functions on it that I found a little longwinded,after using the MV for so long,however I haven't once looked back now I can create my tracks as easily with the MPC I haven't switched on the MV whatosever in that time window of learning the MPC,I do miss the commodity of a VGA/mouse combo,but am enjoying the MPC so much I couldn't care less now I can find my way around the MPC with little effort now,and the timing(even running several external devices clocked to the MPC internal midi clock)is superb,really tight with no glitches.

Having those extra midi outs has made all the difference as I no longer have to patch and play around with different sound devices through a Midi patchbay,everything can be sequenced directly from the MPC,something I hated about the MV, the 1 Midi in is rather a pain too,But in a way I'm glad it had limited midi outputs as I would have never discovered such a wonderful sequencer in the MPC.

bugs aside the MPC4k is a superb machine,just wish I had discovered it earlier(although perhaps wouldn't have got such a good deal on the one I bought)and the sampler aspect is brilliant,just need to get a Hard drive sorted for it and I'll be cooking on Gas!
