the mpc 3000, s3000, s2800, s3200 and more all use the nanox lcd. i had a problem with my mpc3000 lcd, 300 quid for a new replacement, 40 quid for a second hand s2800, epic win

Did this myself too but iwth a S3000XL. It was a bit of a pain to unsolder the ribbon cable that was on the original MPC 3000, but was worth the hassle.

Hint: The equipment listed above all use the same backlights and inverters as well.

They will work for the MPC 60 as well. Basically any old Akai sampler (S1000,S1100,S2800,S3000 series) that has the same form factor screen will work if you don't mind wrecking an vintage sampler. The S900s and S950s and S2000 have different screens and will not work.

The only difference I've seen between the MPC3k LCDs and MPC 60 LCDs is that the backlight can be directly attached to the 3k style LCD.

I think (but not really sure) that only the screen of the 60 mk2 is compatible with the 3k. Which means however, that any sampler can serve as a donator for the mk2 too. For the mk1 I can't be sure, but hey, I still have in my closet a couple 3200's with fully working LCD's and brand new backlights, yipeee!!

According to info at MPCStuff: "This screen will also fit the Akai MPC 60 but it will fit slightly different."

Does anyone have a MPC60 Mk1 they can open up and take a picture of the LCD so we can see how it fits?
