Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi Dudes, having a few problems with the note variation slider; it appears to not have any effect whatsoever on the pad I've selected. I've heard this is a soldering issue? If so, would this be an easy fix?

Thanks

It's only a soldering issue if someone didn't attach it correctly. You can try cleaning it to see if it improves, but if it's broken it will have to be replaced. The replacement part is readily available from most places that services MPCs or sell MPC parts.

It does move ever so slightly when I used the trim mode (holding shift while moving the slider) so It could be just an issue of cleaning it. As for cleaning it, how would suggest I do that?

Many thanks

Spray some contact cleaner in it.

Have you done the actual NV slider check from the MPC menu to verify it's not working?

Yes I have done the NV slider check and nothing is happening. However, as I said, it does move ever so slightly in the trim mode. Is the unit quite easy to take apart so i can get to the slider?

Many thanks

It depends if you are comfortable using a screwdriver to open the case. :)

Make sure the unit's unplugged if you decide to do this.
