Hi, I'm about to buy my first memory card proper for my Mpc 1k. Thinking I`ll probably
go for sandisk but wondering whetehr there's any discernible difference between their
`ultra II' (From what I can tell about 15 mb per sec) and their `Extreme III' (Apparently 30 mb per sec). Would I really notice anything?

Plus are there any differences in speed when you deal with higher storages? I'm thinking of taking a chance on a 8gb.....

Thanks for any advice :)

The "Extreme" branding for CF cards is geared more toward the Digital Camera Market. You won't see any noticeable difference in performance.

2GB is the limit for CF Cards in the MPC 1000 unless you are mounting them as a hard drive.

Stick with a name brand like Sandisk -- but be careful where you buy it online -- many of the SanDisk branded CF cards that are cheap on eBay are cheap because they are bootleg.

Yes, the speed makes a huge difference. The Ultra II cards are slow. I wasn't sure it would be any faster in the MPC, but my Extreme III card is about 2-3 times faster at saving and loading than my Ultra II.
