MPC 60 II - Need help!!!

to actually trim your sample you need to go to the bottom right of the sample edit screen and do the delete before soft start, and delete before soft end to trim the unheard parts of the sample off.

This is a little off subject. How did you manage to install an internal zip drive into your MPC 60? I was thinking about buying the SCSI adapter for it from rlinggdesigns. I would need that right? Thanks...Peace.

I sent my MPC 60 to Bruce Forat (www.forat.com) and had him do the works on my MPC. I didn't do any of it myself. If you want that work done, Bruce is the guy to go to, although you'll want to prepare yourself for his prices (plus cost of shipping to Cali, not sure where you are). Also, check a service center nearby and see if they'll do it.

From main screen - press "SOUNDS" - then "6". Move marker to - "Do:" and turn the data wheel untill it says - "DEL BEFR SOFT ST" then press softkey 4 - you´ve now deleted the "dead air" before the sample. next turn data wheel so "DO:" says "DEL AFTR SFT END" and press softkey 4 - you´ve now deleted the "dead air" after the sample. I think scsi is the only way. I would go external instead of internal, zip drives fail, the floppy can be a life saving backup.

JUST CURIOUS,WHAT'S THE PROCEEDURE FOR THE INTERNAL METHOD?

60 Mk I. 3.10e OS and Marion SCSI with external zip.

It took me a while before I got the scsi, and it is really great.

I would recomend the external because Zip drives can fail and need replacing, external scsi ones are cheap and plentiful, and if anything happened to it I could swap it for a zip I have on another sampler until I got a replacement, or use the floppy drive. With internal, you'd need to open it up to swap it out and you could be out of commission for a bit.

I suppose how it would be done is with some sort of internal splitter, but the marion scsi board has a cable that ends in the external scsi connector, so you'd have to have an elaborate spliter or an internal cable with male on one end, female on the other and a center connector for the internal scsi, then connect the male end to the cable that comes with the marion with the external port and fasten it in.

It would get somewhat crowded and I'm not sure I would dig it as much.

I have my zip velcroed to the side of the table my 60 sits on and I wouldn't trade it for an internal personally.

I thought that you were only supposed to use zip drives sitting horizontally on surfaces? I just put it on top of my 60 when I'm using it to save space.

never had a problem, I've seen many others who have it this way. Also the zip has feet on it's side too, so I'm pretty sure it is intended to be used that way too.

Cool cool, I like that. I think I'll start using that method as it would save a lot of space.
