MPC3000 Fan? Is there one?

First post. I'm a new MPC user, bought a used one a year ago. I haven't used it in 6 months but I'm getting my system oiled up. I'm looking to buy a card CF reader. But other than that I think I'm good. My only question is about the fan. Is there one? I ask because it gets kinda hot around the vents and I haven't heard the fan. Maybe it's just real quiet.

I'm just checking because I'd hate to fry this beautiful machine.

Oh yeah, the only other problem is the headphone jack has some kind of feedback.

The main ins and outs work fine but I haven't checked the individual mix outs yet.

Anyway, just asking about the fan, thanks.

No fan.

The heat is generated by the power supply.

Have you chosen the CF card reader you plan to install in your MPC3000 yet??

I'm thinking about buying one from your site as a matter of fact. Can't decide whether to go internal or external. On the one hand, internal would be nice, compact, done deal. An external would be good so I could keep the floppy for my few disks I have. Not sure if it's worth it. Probably never use the floppy.

For sure, each model has it's pros and cons. With the external, you have portability and the option of using the card reader with different samplers. If you don't take your sampler out to gig, I always advise buying the external.

This is a non gigging sampler. I think I'm leaning towards the external.
