Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

Hi,

It's my first post here but I read ya for some time. I just have bought my first MPC via eBay - 2.5k model. My unit will come with stock CF card but it's possible that the seller deleted original Akai sounds. Would someone be so nice and let me download the original content of stock MPC2500 CF card? I want to be all set when machine will come ;)

Also, as I like to figure out all by myself, I would like to reset all MPC setings and return OS to factory state to mess with "fresh" MPC. Is it possible to reset all settings or I need to reinstall OS (Akai OS 1.24) to achieve that? Any other things I should do?

Regards.

welcome to the forums...

if you hold the erase button while powering up the mpc it will set the machine back to factory settings.
if you goto akaipro.com you can download the manual and the addendum for os 1.22-1.24 with all the added features which are not described in the original user manual.

search the forums for a working link to the stock sounds - they have been posted several times...
oh, ifound one: http://www.akai-pro.jp/flz/support/os/mpc/mpc2500/MPC25_factory_r1.zip
also there are two different cf cards - 32mb or 128mb (which was only included to a limited amount of units, i believe), and the stock sounds are mostly the same with some added sounds on the bigger card.
you also can download the stock soundset for the mpc 1000 from http://www.akai-pro.jp/flz/support/os/mpc/mpc1k/MPC1k_factory_r1.zip these sounds are almost the same as the ones for the 2500.
