help with assigning samples to pads

i have an mpc 500, i loaded up my sample, trimmed it down to 9 different parts on 9 different pads and everything was working fine, then i tried chopping another piece and i was in trim mode, finished trimming the part, went to extract and pushed do it, then nothing happened, the screen still showed edit: extract and the cursor was still blinking but none of the other buttons were working and i had to shut it off and reboot it, luckily i saved the program and i loaded it up again, tried trimming the same part again, and the same thing happened, and then i kept trying a couple more times and the same thing happened, who knows whats up?

Maybe those samples u r working with are corrupted, resave them as wav44/16 on COMPUTER and then
load them up in the mpc again, see if they're ok after that.

If not then it must be the actual project file or pgm file or whatever MPC specific file your saving it as.

Reload the OS as a last resort, a corrupt os can birth corrupted save files, last resort only though.

OS = Operating System, see it as your mpc's private windows Vista. Something needs to make it tick ;)

Newest OS version is 1.31 downloadable from the Akai site.
