Compatability question

Gday

Im interested in the 500 but im wondering how the programs would work between my mpc25k and the 500 ?
Can you load regular programs on the 500 ? will it just not load the sounds for the missing pads ? Im gathering
anything made on the 500 can be transfered back to the 25k ..... only problem is im running jj o/s xl.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

There is compatibility chart on the Akai website.

2.5k JJOS to .5k won't be a perfect translation either way. There are slight differences in the file format. Programs have a higher chance of working properly than sequence data from what I've read.

Might be a good reason to not use JJOS, but personally I'd prefer to still use JJOS and live with a few compatibility issues (such as having 2 filters on JJ and only 1 on the .5k)
