undestructive chop in jjosxl mpc1000

Hi i just updated and getting back into my mpc1000 this is driving my crazy . When i have bass loop for example i wanna chop undestructive so i can try it out and then tweak later , is it only possible to do this in increments of numbers .

For example if i switch chop on i can choose 16 and chop to 16th but some notes last an 8th and i dont want them chopped . Is non destructive chopping avialble after i have auto detected a looped and tweake dit there ?

does this make sense

set the approx number of slices and then press do it, from there you can adjust start and end points.

Yeah but you cant divide or combine pieces meaning that you have to count how many chops there are and if you get it wrong cant add to them .

Just use more chops than you think you will need in the first place so you have extra. If you still run out you can work around by copying the sample and chopping the copy for the additional slices.

Thanks for the replies but if its like this it kinda messes up the automatic set to new program . I was chopping a bassline with some squeals and extra long notes and wanted the chops automaticallly set 1-12 so i could run through them and keep the bline but just change the groove . IF i just aded loads of slices was make the automtic layout of chops not much use.

Shouldnt JJ make it so that form the auto sensing trim page you can divide combine ect and then form there do undestructive chopping ?

I would love that too, especially being able to treat a chop like a selected part of the sample. Switching between ndc and slicing would be nice, too.
