MPC2500 (with JJ OS2/XL) Vs. MPC5000 (with Akai OS2)

Anyone have a subjective opinion here, having owned both?

My main concern is the difference in operating systems... which one is smoother, faster and better designed. I know they can both do about the same things at this point.

2500 wit that jjos2xl............. 5000 is alright still, but the workflow on the jjos is unbelievable....
any smart mpc user would agree wit this 2 thee FULLEST....

The 5k has advantages over the 2500 with jj but the OS and work flow isn't one of them.

Higher ppq, adat, better FX, improved filters and envelopes.
You may or not consider the so-so synth and 8 track HDR thrown in as a plus but thats about it.

Only OS feature the 5k has over jj is the pad mute and mute groups.
JJ is still smother and feature packed overall. Not to mention the 5k is real sluggish when adjusting parameters etc. in OS 2

Speaking of sluggish-- For the brief seconds I've used a 5000, the first thing I noticed was the slow screen redraws. Especially when changing modes. I'm not sure if this is related to processor speed/video speed, or the actual screen.

it's related to nukai putting out crap and rushing shit out to get their $$$

now days 2500 can be had at steal price of 700-900...use left over $$$ for nice synth, monitors, interface or whatever else you need
