Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

What up people,

I've had this MPC2000 for quite some time now, but ive never used it to its full potential. However the production bug has hit me again and I have a couple of questions...

1. My sampler comes from Switzerland but I now live in Montreal Canada. Some appliances will work by simply using an adaptor or an american cable. Others, like my computer, required me to change the power supply inside. Will I have to change it on my sampler or can I just use an american cable?

2. Does anyone know if the LCD screen is expensive to replace? Theres a couple of lines on the display that no longer work from what I remember. Subsequently, a DJ once told me you can plug in the sampler directly to your computer and the display can go on your monitor? And what cable is needed in order to do this?

3. Finally, I eventually plan on getting an Mbox with Pro-tools...can anyone give me some info on how Pro Tools can be used with my MPC200?

Sorry if some of these questions sound stupid to more experienced users, but I figure this is the best place to ask this question.

Thanks

1 u probally need a convertor.
2 they got em at www.forat.com the sreens. i think so. someone will help u or do a search of the forums and no the mpc will not work with your pc like that. u can get 2 zip drives for under 50 bucks, one scsi 50 pin and one parrelll and then get mpcprogrameditor at www.midicase.com and transfer samples like this.
3 Protools is reocrding software. that means that u can record what the mpc is playing. and multitrack it and mix it down to clean it up, add effects and make the song really shine. I would recommencd gettin the 8 outs for the mpc and getting a mixer and the 002 the mbox is aight but it only has 2 inputs to record in at once so u have to do multiple takes. Like a 3min song will take u 30 mins to track. The akai dps 12 or a roland 1680 are hardware multitracks and are very cheap on ebay now. u get 6 inputs on it instead of 2 compared to the mbox. i love my dps and its mad easy to use and sounds bangin.
