Hey guys
When i sample sometimes, i cant get the sample to be loud enough. Even if i normalize, turn the velocity and volume up all the way. I made sure the recording didnt have much head room either. Is there something im missing?? Thanks -Alex

By default the program sets sample levels at 70%, could try changing that to 100%. I personally run mine through a mixer and turn up the gain a bit to match other devices.

Isn't the default to record at -12db as well?

Also, to reduce the noise floor it is best to record as close to 0db without clipping as possible.

Ok... Im confused now. When i record a sample, its the perfect volume when i am chopping it, after i normalize, but as soon as i load it onto an unused pad, it is too quiet, but if i load it onto a pad that already has, lets say a kick on it, when i replace the kick, then it will be the right volume. If anybody could slap some sense into me that would be great

the "blank" pad STILL has some parameter settings on it that is making it "quiet".

Even though you don't have a sample "in" a pad the pad itself has settings that are STILL there.

Check the kick pad params/settings and then compare that to the blank pad params/settings.

Or the blank pad could have a lower mixer volume setting or effects still there but no sample assigned.

Check all of that out.

make sure your full level is on !!!! record your samples in as loud as possible without clipping .. witch means so it doesn't touch the end
