I wanna get rid of the sp 505 and have some more sound design options on board the 2kxl.

If anyone actually has an EB16 in their unit, possible to post some dry and effected examples?

Thank you.

p.s. I understand that most people would prefer SP effects over 2kxl, but I would like to hear why.

A bass lick??? hm..ok I'll see what I can find. Or maybe you could upload a sample and I put fx on it.

Ok this is the first example with a well known drumloop. I gated the original reverb before I sampled it to the MPC. You will hear that in the first two bars (thats without any fx). After that there are some reverb examples (changes every 2 bars). The following few bars show the distortion fx (dont turn up your volume! It will get louder).
After that is the pitchshift (I think it was set at +13 semitones. can't remember :)) followd by flanger and then some echo at 335ms (witch is the highest setting so an echo on the 8th notes is only possible for a beat faster than.......I think 87 or so. You can do the math by yourself :) If you dont want to you can use samplecalc from this site http://download.ucsoft.de/download.php) and at the half ms (16th echo).
For the last few bars I tweaked the filter a bit. The filter is a bit complicated and dont work like a "normal filter or EQ.
AFAI understand the filter it works like this:

There are 4 bands. The low and the hi band are something like Lo and Hi Pass filters but you can tweak the gain of them to (usually low and hi pass filters dont use gain. they just use the frequency and resonance).
The two mid bands are peak filters with tweakable Q (bandwidth).
All bands can be set from -infinity to +12. If all bands are set to -inifity nothing comes out of it.
So you are able to just set the hi band to 0dB and got a hipass filter. Or only use the mid band and get a bandpass filter.
Oh and the mid bands frequency can be modulated by an LFO so they can be used to get a kind of wahwah fx.

But still the filter is not that easy to tweak it the way you want the sample to sound. The settings sometimes dont sound like they should.

I hope you are not disapointed cause I dont have the bass sample maxilla. If you really need it I could do it but it would be cool when you upload a sample. I got so many records but I just didnt find a useablel bass sample. (ok there was that "for the love of money" but there is an FX on it already.)

peace

no,definitely not. these examples do a very good overview of the possibilities.don`t think a bass lick would be better.......

thank you..... :D
