Monitors

I saw some edirol monitors online for cheap and i wanted to know if anyone has those and if so how is the sound quality.When i saw the specs it looks like they're really no bigger than pc speakers,that can't be right.Is it??I don't have any monitors yet. i've been usin' the pc speakers and i'm sure most of you who have used them know how i feel....

you get what you pay for. If they look like computer speakers they probably sound like a real nice set of .......computer speakers.

i would spend at least 300 on a set of monitors. I got the samson reslov 65 as and they sound good.

alesis monitor 1's.....passive or active although passive are cheaper...

Those cheap Edirol monitors are good & a lot of studios have them but only for reference. They are only a slight step up from computer speakers, more like good mini hi-fi speakers. That is the kind of speaker most people listen to music on so you need to check how it sounds through those.

Alesis, Mackie, Samson, Tannoy, JBL, Yamaha, Spirit, Genlec, M-Audio....
there are so many companies making good, nearfield monitors these days. But however good your main monitors are you should always check how your track sounds through computer speakers if it is going to be heard on the net.
