Pads here,

Bare with me im a newbie so dont bring me down..

Considering I have just got the 4000 and it being my first hardware seq/sampler I think i'm catching on quite well.. except this.

I made my first beat in the 4000 tonight... excited at the fact I then wondered what format the mpc saves everything in, yeah im that newbie.

Anyways seeing that it saved in .mid or .midi or whatever I didnt think anything of it - I saved it on a usb flash drive and uploaded it to my comp and opened up the contents of the flash drive in winamp... the sound was that of a tattered frail atari like cheapness.

Clearly this wasnt the song I had made in the 4000... assuming you already know the question from the details im gonna skip that and frustratingly add

What the hell?, and Please help.

MIDI doesn't carry audio. Your computer is just playing the MIDI notes in the MIDI file.

How to get your sounds to your PC:

Record it to the PC.
Sample the main outs, and transfer that file to the computer.
