MPC 2000XL discontinued

yeah as far as i know the Blue one is still in production...I just ordered one from my supplier and he is bringin it to me from japan..

They are still making the 2kxl as far as I know. They just changed the color recently so why would they stop producing it already? If not, get a used one. These things are rugged so, it's not likely that you'll get a non-functioning unit. I got mine in brand new condition in the box, full blown 8 outs, max ram and fx card for 900.

Wow, there must be blue ghost in my basement attached to all those wires, lol...I got my blue XL in Feb...hopefully I'll get a blue 4000 in a the future.

Yeah, I think it's bs too, but I've called several stores and they told me the same thing. Even online noone has them in stock.

I don't know...maybe Akai is simply not catching up with demand and they have signed a new distribution agreement with Numark, I think, so perhaps there's some realignment going on before a new inventory is gathered. There can be lags in production whenever a company expands or downsizes.

I was told the same thing by Sam Ash about two days ago.I went ahead and put the last one they had on layaway.They wanted to keep it on the floor in case someone wanted to buy it but I got into an intense argument with the mananger telling him that if this was really the last one they were going to get then he better either take it off the sales floor or loose my my $1200 sale...Needless to say they took it off the sales floor that place is in no position to loose a $1200 plus sale.Anyway I am not sure if it is really discontinued or not because remember Numark is supposedly taking over the Distribution of Akai products in North America anyways.So we shall see...I really would like to get a MPC 4000 anyway but they are going to have to come down in price and fix all or incorporate all the things they claim it will do in the specifications...

He was probably just trying to push a new 4000 on you because it costs more.

i fnumark is their distributo then look out cuz numark sucks the farts outta my@ss. they are the weakest company next to behringer. sad affairs.

The mpc2000xl is not being discontinued ,the fact is there changing the color of the unit, AKAI stop making the original 2000xl
