Time correct doesn't work?

I just got me an mpc1k with jjos2xl (had a 2000xl before).

Timing correct:
Note value: 1/16
Shift Timing: 0
Strength:0
Swing: 50%

Well, with these settings, when I hit a drumloop, nothing is quantized by 1/16. It's like the time correct is off. But looking to my T.C settings (above) it's on.
When I switch to JJ OS 3.08 the TC is working well.

What am I doing wrong? Please dont come blame me with that quantize is for n00bs and shit. thx

Strength setting at 0% will make the quantization "looser". turn it up to 100% for accurate 1/16 timing. Side not: quantize strength is in my opinion one of the dopest advancements in JJOS2xl. It allows you to loosen the feel of notes recorded. DOPE feature!!

aahhh. that's interesting. didn't understand what 'strength' is from just reading the features list of 2. damn, i really have to get a job so i can upgrade.
the ADSR functions will be appreciated as well.

Quantize strength is definitely a bonus in XL, although sometimes I have to record the same part multiple times to get what I like. Obviously what I need to get in the habit of doing is recording without quantize, then applying it and using undo if it's not right.

the more you do it without the timing correct on. the better your own timing will get. thus not needing it anymore. then you can get it exactly how you want it every time.

My timing is on point anyway but I like to use quantize as an effect if that makes sense?

does anyone find that 96ppq is not enough. more often than not now i find myself not being able to do fine adjustment, doing multiple takes and end up trimming the note just a nip to fit. i might just be getting sloppy with my chopping though..
