Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hey wasup guys as you can see I'm new so wassup!!!... I've been messing with the piano for years now and i purchased a MPC 2000...I've had it for about 2 months and i cant seem to get my beats on point...what i mean by that is that i cant get it on beat... every time i make a beat its all jumpy if you get what I'm saying lol... i don't know guys maybe you guys can help me out if you need to know anything else to help me out let me know...alright thats about it...

i don't know how to do it on the mpc its a little embarrassing...someone told me you change the timing but it doesn't seem to do anything

IF what you play back doesnt sound to what you Played, then turn off quantize. I dont quantize anthing, real drummers are not robots.

real drummers use drums.




try adjusting the timing... for example: 1/8 1/16 1/32

what that does is.. when you are recording in those times it will shift your sound into place.

try pushing play, hold note repeat and a pad.. now change the timing and do it again... that will let you know how each timing sounds.

You can't change quantization of something you've already recorded. You have to change it to what you want then record your sequence to hear the effect. 2000 classic has no note repeat. On your main screen try setting 1/8 to OFF, then try reading the manual.
