Mpc beat to PC

Hey guys, i 'd like some help for something troubling me for days now.
I 've got an mpc 1000 and a tascam us122l sound card, and i want to put my mpc beat into my pc as a .wav or whatever kind of file.

I do the whole thing just like this guy says

BUT, my cubase wont record it! I kind of thing its my sound card's problem, it doesnt have any settings or something though, just the latency, so i cant really fix anything.

If anyone had the same problem, or knows how to fix it, pleace post your piece of advise!

maybe a dumb question, but you know that midi is not audio, don't you?

Is there somthing im doin wrong to the whole process?

midi only tells a device when to play what and how and will not transfer any audio signals. i guess you want to send audio from the mpc to your computer.
you need to connect like this:
PC MIDI out -> MPC MIDI in
PC MIDI in -> MPC MIDI out
MPC Audio out -> PC Audio in

if you connect like this your pc and your mpc can communicate and the mpc sends it's audio to your pc.

Theres a problem with this, you see, ive got an acer laptop, and it doesnt have these inputs/outpuys ON it

yep, you'll need an external device. there are many external soundcards out there which you connect via usb or firewire.

Any good suggestions? Something tha you might have tried and turned out to be good..?

i just use my computer for creating sounds and the mpc is the main device for production. so i'm not really into that stuff. but i know that there are some tascam devices which are very good for the price. if you're just gettin started i wouldn't buy something too expensive.

Can someone tell me with details what cables i need, which cable will go where, and the exact process on the cubase?
Plus how my tascam settings should be like (the settings ON the tascam card) etc.

It s getting nerve-breaking just to put a beat on the pc.

Hey bro i used to use a interface to record but i wasnt satisfied with how it sounded on the computer when id listen to it. it certainly didnt sound like it did on the mpc.

so if your ram is maxxed out just have your song or sequence ready, then go to record mode and set it to record the main outs.. now press play and it should record itself as its playing. after your done just save the wav file and transfer it to your pc via usb.. this is how i do it now. my interface has been collecting dust ever since!
