It's pretty much a bug, but no reason to report it, just interesting--

1. Load a project so you have a sequence ready to play.
2. Go to Save mode
3. Press anything to bring up the naming screen (rename a file, or create new folder)
4. While the name editor is open, press Play.

wtf...

It would be nice to have things loaded in RAM available from the LOAD/SAVE menu, but this don't make much sense..

Yep pretty much.. For the record, the MPC500 (not sure about the 5000) has access to your loaded programs/samples while in the load screen. Pretty handy, but no big deal.

i think this is very important. what do you do if you don't want to load your 500 bassdrums into ram,

you could choose the right one by listening to them while playing the rest of the drumkit in sequence or on pads in load screen. to hear if it fits in.. if it were possible

nym always said this isn't possible for the mpc to acces ram and hd at same time but is probably only true for playing a sequence in load screen

would be interresting if the sample playback interrupts if you hit a program sample while playing sample from hd on the 500 in load screen
